How to do Swedish Braids

Today, I (Kirsten) am going to show you how to do Swedish braids.  I wear these all the time since I'm Swedish.  They may look complicated to do, but they are actually quite easy.  These work best on dolls with long hair, but you can still try it if you have shorter hair.

First, split your hair in half and make two braids on the sides of your head.

Now, this is the part that can get complicated so pay attention.  You will find there is a little "hole" underneath the braid.  (Where the finger is.)

Tuck the end of the braid in the hole and shove upward until it will stay in place by itself.  Repeat on the other side.

It will look like this.  Then take some ribbon and tie in a bow around the braid at about the top of the ear.

You just did Swedish braids!

Have fun wearing them,
Kirsten

Our Top 10 Closet Items

Hey guys!  Today we thought we would share with you our top 10 closet items.  We know everyone is different so you may not need some of the items, but that's what makes each of us unique!  Let's get started.
1. Solid white shirt.  Ours is a t-shirt, but you can go fancier if you want.  Every doll should have one.  We wear ours all the time.  Under things or just by itself, it goes with everything.

2.  A neutral colored cardigan or sweater.  Well you may like colored sweaters/cardigans it's also important to have a neutral because it can go with lots more.  We wears ours all the time.

3.  Solid colored scarf.  Now for this one not everyone may agree.  However, we really like wearing scarves and a solid colored one will go with lots of stuff.

4.  Skirt.  It can be any color or pattern.  Skirts can be dressed up for a more formal look or dressed down for a more casual look.

5.  Dress.  Again, any color or pattern.  It doesn't have to be very fancy.  We like ours because we can wear it formal or informal depending on the occasion.

6.  A tee in your favorite color.  Yes, in you favorite color, because you'll wear more often.  We wear the blue one down below with lots of stuff.

7.  Jeans.  A comfortable and stylish pair of jeans is a necessity!

8.  Solid colored pair of leggings.  Wear these under skirts, dresses, shorts.....!

9.  Solid colored flats.  We were ours with lots and lots of outfits.  These go well with lots of outfits.

10.  Brown or black boots.  Boots look great with leggings or skinny jeans or skirts.

Make Some Cozy Slippers!

Hey all!  It's this time of year when you just want to curl up and stay warm.  (Well, that's what we want to do at least.)  So, to help you get even warmer, I'm going to show you how to make some cozy slippers!

You Will Need:
-Fleece
-Scissors
-Cardboard
-Hot Glue Gun

First, cut two strips about an inch wide and fold in half.

Then, measure around your doll's foot and trim the ends where the toes begin.

Trace your foot on some cardboard and cut four.

Fold your fleece in half, then lay one of the cardboard pieces on top and trace the upper part like the picture above.  Cut out with an extra 1/4-1/2 inch around.

Cut out four fleece soles with an extra 1/4-1/2 inch around.  Cover the cardboard soles and hot glue on the bottom.

Take your half of the shoe part of fleece and cover the top of one of the fleece soles.  Hot glue in the back.

Hot glue your sides to the side of the sole.
Hot glue another sole to the back, cardboard sides together.   Cut two more strips of fleece about a 1/2 inch wide and wrap around the shoe where the two soles meet to give the slipper a more clean, finished look.

Ta-da!  Your done already!  Now curl up with  a good book, some hot chocolate, a fuzzy blanket, and some cozy slippers!

Enjoy the hot chocolate!
