Breathtaking in Blue

On Saturday we received this dress from our lovely sponsor The Whimsical Doll 2.  The quality and attention to detail is amazing!  Plus, it came all wrapped up in tissue paper.

The dress has a blue/teal/turquoise color with a chevron print.  It is made of cotton.  The bodice is lined and it velcros in the back.  The skirt part has little pleats all the way around.  All the seams are serged and there is even a little tag!  The bow/ribbon is separate, so you can wear the dress with or without it.

This dress is perfect for that fancy, summer party, a picnic, or just to feel pretty! The dress is lightweight to keep you cool on those hot, summer days.  Any doll would look gorgeous in it.  The style is simple yet tasteful and fashionable.  Visit her Etsy shop to get your doll ready for summer!  Her wardrobe isn't complete without one of these dresses!  All of her prices are very reasonable.  (About $10-$12 for a dress!)

Make a Bow Tie Necklace

Another post today!  If you want to add a little glam and style to spice up an outfit then the bow tie necklace is for you!
You're going to need:
-felt
-hot glue gun
-scissors
-necklace chain (You can find these at a craft store.)

Cut a rectangle of felt about an inch wide and 3 inches long.

Pinch the rectangle in the middle to make a bow shape.

Add a tiny dab of hot glue just enough to barely hold the pinch together.  This is very important.  Use the smallest bit of glue as possible.

Cut another strip of felt about a 1/2 inch wide and 2 1/2-3 inches long.

Place the bow on top of the chain.  Make sure to line the bow up so its exactly in the middle.  Push the chain up in to the pinch.

Wrap the other piece of felt around the bow and chain to hold them together.  Hot glue the end in place.

You're finished!

Do you like it?  We do!  Have a great day!  And thank you Char at DollDiaries for posting our guest post.  You can see it here http://dolldiaries.com/more-simple-photo-editing-tips/

Make Some Cozy Slippers!

Hey all!  It's this time of year when you just want to curl up and stay warm.  (Well, that's what we want to do at least.)  So, to help you get even warmer, I'm going to show you how to make some cozy slippers!

You Will Need:
-Fleece
-Scissors
-Cardboard
-Hot Glue Gun

First, cut two strips about an inch wide and fold in half.

Then, measure around your doll's foot and trim the ends where the toes begin.

Trace your foot on some cardboard and cut four.

Fold your fleece in half, then lay one of the cardboard pieces on top and trace the upper part like the picture above.  Cut out with an extra 1/4-1/2 inch around.

Cut out four fleece soles with an extra 1/4-1/2 inch around.  Cover the cardboard soles and hot glue on the bottom.

Take your half of the shoe part of fleece and cover the top of one of the fleece soles.  Hot glue in the back.

Hot glue your sides to the side of the sole.
Hot glue another sole to the back, cardboard sides together.   Cut two more strips of fleece about a 1/2 inch wide and wrap around the shoe where the two soles meet to give the slipper a more clean, finished look.

Ta-da!  Your done already!  Now curl up with  a good book, some hot chocolate, a fuzzy blanket, and some cozy slippers!

Enjoy the hot chocolate!

A Tour of our Store Scene

Hey guys!  It's Nadia and Elizabeth here again.  Today we are going to give you a tour of our store scene which was used in one of our lastest stopmotions.
First we have the store front.  We used a lid with  flap and removed the flap.  We covered the lid with brick paper printed off from Google.  We added a sign, a Christmas tree, and a dress form in some clothes.
In this photo it shows you the whole store scene.  We took  big piece of cardbord, folded it in half and added some wrapping paper for wallpaper.  We took some thick posterboard and covered it in another fun printed wrapping paper and tapped it to theside of the cardboard.  On the other side we taped the store front window.
Here we have one side.  We used double sided tape to attach some hats for a ht display.  We added a little bench made from a tissue box.  We first taped on a rectangle of cardboard to the top the same size as the box then covered the top in wrapping paper.  We added some ribbon to cover the edge of the wrapping paper.

This is the back wall.  We made  dressing room by cutting out a square bigger than the dolls head, taping the end to the wall, and then we put two dowels on the other corners that aren't touching the wall.  We then cover it in fabric and added a little bow.  We used a small jewelry chest with drawers to display the shoes.

A closer look at are shoe and jewelry display.

A closer look at are dressing room.

A closer look at the clothing display.

We hoped you enjoyed the little tour of our store and if you make any kind of store or shop we would love to see pictures of it!  Just email us the pictures.  Our email is innerstarustudios@gmail.com
Thanks for reading today's post and have a great day!

First Post! Spring Fashion

Hey guys, this is Nadia and Elizabeth.  We are so excited for our first post.  Today we are going to be blogging about spring fashion.  Yes, we know it's only January, but we can still dream about the outfits we will wear in the spring, can't we?
First, we are starting off with a basic white tee (made with the free t-shirt pattern from Liberty Jane) and Kit's floral meet skirt, but any floral skirt will do.  We tucked the shirt in and pulled the skirt up so it looks like an empire waisted dress.  For the hair we twisted back the front strands and used barrettes to hold in place.

Our first look is a casual, school day or just hanging out with friends, kind of look.  We added some light pink, frayed converse with a green print on them.  They came with an outfit that American Girl sold a couply of years ago.

Our second look is chic, fashionable and stylish.  Perfect for a day of site seeing, walking in the park, eating at a cafe, or shopping in the city.  We added a light pink beaded bracelet, a hat from American Girl that came with Marie Grace's Summer Outfit that you can't buy anymore, and the boots that came with the outfit.
Thanks for reading our first post and we hope you enjoyed it!  Until our next post au revoir!
