We Got Tagged!

Hi!  Another post today!  We got tagged by Clair from Carrot and Claire and Hello Little Birdy by Claire and from Our AG Adventures.  Thank you!
Ok, so here is the first tag.

1. If you could create any American Girl Doll, what would she look like and what would her name be?
Umm, she would be either Hispanic, African-American, or Hawaiian and her name would probably be Zecilia.  (I'm obsessed with that name right now!)

2. What american Girl Dolls do you have?
Marisol Luna (GOTY 2005), Josefina Montoya, Kirsten Larson, Elizabeth Cole, Sonali Matthews (GOTY Friend 2009), and Nadia Jakes (MyAG #39).

 3. Do you have any non-AG 18" dolls?
No, but I used to before I got an AG doll.

 4. What is your absolute favorite brand of dolls?
American Girl

5. What is the next doll (AG or non-AG) you want to get?
Well, I would love to get Cecile, Ivy, Saige, and Rebecca.

 6. What is your favorite thing to do with your dolls?
Dress them up in stylish outfits and then photograph them.

7. Do you have a place for your dolls, like a corner of the room, where their beds are and stuff?
In the floor of my closet, but I am getting a doll house soon!

 8. Would you rather use the computer/watch TV/play on your electrical device/play video games/play with your dolls?
"Play" with my dolls and then use the computer.  (You know, to blog!)

9. If your parents told you could only have 1 doll, what would you do?
I would say, "What?!?!? Why?"

  10. Have you ever found an American Girl brand item (can be anything) at a second-hand store?
No, I wish. :(  I look every time.

  11. Do your friends share your love for dolls?
1 maybe.  I'm not completely sure though.

   12. What is your favorite non-AG doll brand?
Barbie

 13. Where do you get your inspiration?
Myself and other blogs.

 14. Does anyone in your family share your love for dolls?
Yes!  My little sister has two AG dolls of her own (so far...) and my mom really likes dolls too.  (She has ever since she was a little girl.)  She would buy some just for herself and "play" with them if she had the time.

 15. Where did you get the idea to start a blog?
Well, ever since I started visiting blogs I knew that I eventually wanted to start one because I love writing and photography.  I sort of forgot about it until I discovered the Spicys and realized (some where back in my head) that I really, really, really wanted to start a blog, so I did!

I will award these blogs:
If you were one of the blogs picked above, answer the questions on your blog, award around 10 blogs, and let them know.

Now on to our second tag!
  1. How would you describe your style?
Athletic, sporty, fashionable, stylish, and bold.

2. What are your wardrobe staples?
 T-shirts, camis, and jeans.

3. Most expensive clothing item you own?
For myself I have no clue.  Doll wise, probably the AG Christmas dress from 2009.
 4. Most wanted item?
Again for myself I have no clue.  For dolls, well I have a lot of items that I want but from AG I would have to say Saige's Sweater Outfit.
 5. Favorite designer?
For myself I don't know.  For dolls Liberty Jane.
 6. How much do you spend on clothing?
As cheap as possible while there is still great quality.  (Unless of course it's something I just have to have.)
 7. Favorite places to shop?
For myself, Aeropostale and Maurices.  For dolls, American Girl, Liberty Jane, and Etsy.
8. Favorite Fragrance?
Uhhhh I hardly ever wear fragrances.
  9. Favorite way to do your hair?
High pony.
 10. Most prized possession?
I'm not really sure.

Make Twisted Fabric Flower Pillows

Hi girlies!  So two days ago when we showed you here how to make a couch some of you asked how we made these pillows.  So today that's what I'm going to do.
You're going to need:
-fabric
-scissors
-hot glue gun (Don't we use this every time?☺)
-sewing machine or needle and thread
-stuffing

Cut a rectangle 3 inches wide and 4 inches long.  This is for the pillow part.  Cut a strip of coordinating fabric 2 inches wide and about 24 inches long. (You won't use all of this.)  This is for the flower part.

Put your pillow pieces right sides together and sew all the way round, but leaving about  1/2 inches open.  Right side out, stuff, and sew the opening closed.

Take your other piece of fabric and start twisting it.

Add a dab of hot glue and begin rolling it into a spiral/circle.

Once you have the size you want cut off the excess fabric leaving a little bit.  Add hot glue to the back of the flower and press the extra bit of fabric on top of it.

(The front)

Add some hot glue to the back of the flower and press on to the pillow.

Ta da!

Aren't they so cute?!?!  Have fun with these.  Try making several in different sizes for one pillow.  Be creative!

Have a lovely day!
Kirsten

P.S. Thank you so, so much for 20 followers!!!!!  We are so excited!

Make a Couch

Hi everyone!  Today I'm going to show you how to make a comfy, cushy, couch.
You're going to need:
-fabric
-cardboard
-hot glue gun
-scissors
-pencil
-ribbon
-fabric scraps, fleece or stuffing

First start off with a shoebox and some extra cardboard.  (And yes, that's a pizza box.)

Place the shoebox on top of the cardboard and place your doll sitting on the shoebox.  Draw a line where your her shoulders are.  Draw a line the width of the shoebox.

Cut it out.

Tape the piece to the back of the shoebox.

We taped another piece of cardboard on top of the seat to make it sturdier.

Draw a line on the back of the couch where your doll's elbow is.

Place the couch on it's side on the cardboard.  Draw a line on the cardboard where the elbow line is on the back of the couch.

Cut the piece out twice as long.

Fold the cardboard in half on the line.  Tape to hold it in place.

Tape it to the side of the couch.

Cover the couch with fleece, fabric scraps, towels, or any other kind of padding.  We put some fabric scraps in an old pillow case.  We added some fleece at the arm rests.

Cover the couch in fabric.

Hot glue the fabric to the bottom.

Hot glue a piece of cardboard on the bottom.

Hot glue some ribbon around the bottom to finish it  off.

And you're done!

Enjoy your comfy new seat!

Adollable Dolls Fashion: Lace

Hey everyone! Today we have a fashion post.  It's a series we're starting.  There's not any specific times well be posting about this series.  Just whenever we feel like it.  Ok, so recently when we went on a shopping trip we noticed there was one thing that was everywhere.  Can you guess it?  Yup, lace!  We love lace.  It's so pretty and perfect for spring and summer.  So anyways here are some pictures of the lace clothes in our closet.

Here we have shorts with lace pockets.  We actually did a DIY in a post recently on how to add lace to back pockets.  You can see it here.

This shirt we got from Liberty Jane and we absolutely adore it!  The color, lace, patterns......everything!

Here is another lace shirt.  This one is completely lace and is an off the shoulder top we made with Liberty Jane patterns.  The light green color is a very pretty color for spring.

And last but not least is a lace scarf.  We actually made it using the same lace as the shirt above.  Throwing on a lacey scarf is the perfect way to spice up an outfit.  You can visit this post here to find out how to make infinity scarves.

That's all for today!  We hope you enjoyed today's post!  What's your favorite spring item?

P.S.  The green lace shirt and scarf will be on our Etsy as soon as we get everything set up!!!!!

Blogging Tips

Hola!  Today we'll be sharing with you some blogging tips to make it more fun and enjoyable.

1.  Write your ideas down in a notebook.  We usually think of awesome ideas when we don't have time to do them, so we write them down for later when we need inspiration for a blog post.  We actually got this idea from The Spicy's.  This is very helpful to us, especially since whenever we have time to do a post we can't think of any good ideas.

2.  Use lots of pictures.  The more the merrier!  Make sure if you have any super long, boring posts you use pictures to spice it up, even if you're not showing how to do something.  I think it looks much more interesting and I'm more likely to read a post if there is pictures.  Make sure though that your pictures are good quality and there not dark, messy, and blurry.

3.  Have a title photo for your posts.   (Like the first photo.)  Using a title photo grabs your readers' eyes.  Plus, it can give them idea what the post is about.  (But not always.)  If your showing how to do something, make sure the photo is of the finished product.

4.  Blog regularly.  This doesn't mean you have to blog every day, but try your best to blog at least once a week.  People are more likely to check your blog often if they know you are posting regularly rather than every few months.

That's all we have for today!  We hope this has been helpful!

How to do the High Ponytail

Hi!  Today, I'll be showing how I do high ponytails.  High ponies are super cute and look great with almost every outfit.

Gather your hair on top of your head.  That's right, ON TOP.  (I recommend holding your doll upside down and then gathering the hair up with your free hand.)

Secure with a hair elastic.  Brush out the pony, remember to brush out the underside too.

Spread the hair out (like the picture below) and comb.  I recommend putting one hand around the elastic and laying the hair on top of the hand and then combing.  Fluff it out and adjust it until you like the look.

Doesn't it look so cute?

P.S.  One more follower and then we will have 20 followers!  Thank you so much.

Make a Bow Tie Necklace

Another post today!  If you want to add a little glam and style to spice up an outfit then the bow tie necklace is for you!
You're going to need:
-felt
-hot glue gun
-scissors
-necklace chain (You can find these at a craft store.)

Cut a rectangle of felt about an inch wide and 3 inches long.

Pinch the rectangle in the middle to make a bow shape.

Add a tiny dab of hot glue just enough to barely hold the pinch together.  This is very important.  Use the smallest bit of glue as possible.

Cut another strip of felt about a 1/2 inch wide and 2 1/2-3 inches long.

Place the bow on top of the chain.  Make sure to line the bow up so its exactly in the middle.  Push the chain up in to the pinch.

Wrap the other piece of felt around the bow and chain to hold them together.  Hot glue the end in place.

You're finished!

Do you like it?  We do!  Have a great day!  And thank you Char at DollDiaries for posting our guest post.  You can see it here http://dolldiaries.com/more-simple-photo-editing-tips/
